The Future of Network Infrastructure: Secure, Software-defined and Automated in the Cloud

Date: Tuesday, May 21, 2019
2 p.m. ET
1 hour
No Fee
Accreditation: Training Certificate for 1 CPE*

Agencies are in the middle of both an evolution and a revolution when it comes to their networks. While we don't want to over dramatize network modernization, but we all know without the network, any organization, public or private, will have a hard time doing anything.

First, the growing demand on the network is forcing agencies to continue down the evolution of how they deliver services. Second, with the need for better security, better data and access management and the expectation and desire for emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning are forcing agencies to rethink how the network of today needs to morph into one that is based on software, not hardware, and can be improved with a few keyboard strokes.

Technology leaders from the Justice Department, General Services Administration, Department of Homeland Security and Leidos discuss balancing the speed of network modernization while supporting mission needs.

Learning objectives:
  • The current state of agency infrastructures and plans to modernize
  • The status of data center consolidation and optimization
  • The impact of the network disruption on the customer or end user
