Session Description and Objectives:
The Joint Commission and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) are committed to supporting hospitals on their journey towards electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) adoption and transition to the new Clinical Quality Language (CQL) logic expression language for the 2019 eCQM reporting period. The February 26 session will address VTE-1 and -2 eCQMs and will include a review of measure logic, common issues, and a question and answer session.  Based on participant feedback, we are extending the duration of the session to 90 minutes. This will permit adequate time to cover presentation content in the first hour and Q&A at the end of the session for an additional 30 minutes.   At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Apply concepts learned about the new Clinical Quality Language (CQL) expression language for the VTE-1 and -2 eCQMs
2. Identify common issues and questions regarding VTE-1 and -2 eCQMs and
3. Prepare to implement the CQL expression language for the 2019 eCQM reporting year (2020 data submission).

Technical Requirements (for audio and system):
  • Google Chrome (recommended browser).
  • Must have computer speakers or headphones. Audio will be though VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) only.
