Using the Cloud to Transform the Healthcare Data Center

Tue, Jun 26, 2018 1:00 PM EDT{LOCAL_TZ}

Healthcare organizations want out of the data center business in order to focus their attention on innovative uses of clinical and non-clinical information. The costs of maintaining hardware and software require skilled personnel and repeated capital expenditures to keep up with the data demands of increasingly complex healthcare environments. The cloud provides a means for reducing the IT footprint within a given health system, hospital, or physician practice while at the same time opening the door to delivering data and applications to end users more efficiently and effectively.

In this presentation, Ochsner Health System’s AVP of Technology Willy Schley will detail the organization’s approach to data center transformation using the cloud and the innovations it has enabled.

Learning objectives:

• Identifying business cases for healthcare cloud computing
• Choosing appropriate cloud service models
• Negotiating cloud service agreements
• Implementing and managing a healthcare cloud environment
