Implementing Substance Abuse Services in Health Center Settings: Challenges and Opportunities

HRSA/Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) is pleased to offer the first of two webinars from the SAMHSA- HRSA Center for Integrated Health Solutions that are designed to address specific challenges related to the implementation of substance abuse/MAT services in health center settings. Please join us for this webinar as we share insights from experts in the field on issues critical to the successful implementation of substance abuse services such as: developing protocols for screening and brief intervention, staffing considerations for substance abuse/MAT services, and making appropriate referrals to specialty care.

In this webinar, participants will gain:
  • Understand appropriate workflows for substance abuse screening and brief intervention-
    • Developing workflow protocols for SBIRT and MAT
  • Increase knowledge of staffing considerations for substance abuse/MAT service provision
    • Staff recruitment and retention
    • Staff training for MAT (including DATA Waiver Training)  
  • Develop protocols and procedures for referrals to substance abuse services
    • Developing and formalizing partnerships/referrals for patient recruitment 
  • Examine substance abuse data collection and EHR utilization

            b. Medication reconciliation
            c. Pharmacy dispensing
