Using Boardmaker Studio Templates with Boardmaker Online

Description: Many users of Boardmaker Studio may have noticed that the templates have changed since April 2015. Many of them now have a "p" next to them. What does this mean? Many users are also finding that their districts or clinics are subscribing to Boardmaker Online. How can they use both these programs separately and together to provide literacy and communication supports to their students while also collecting data on their progress? Outline/Agenda:

  1. Introductions (10 minutes)
  2. Identify the new templates in Boardmaker Studio (10 minutes)
  3. Demonstrate how some of the templates work in Boardmaker Online as communication and learning activities visual supports for students (15 minutes)
  4. Demonstrate how to upload Boardmaker Studio projects in an individual Boardmaker Online account  (10 minutes)
  5. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using the program as a stand-alone and  in conjunction with Boardmaker Online (10 minutes)
  6. Review of information and Quiz (5 minutes)

 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to describe what they will be able to do with their Boardmaker Studio visual supports activities once they are uploaded in Boardmaker Online.
  2. Participants will be able to describe how to upload Boardmaker Studio Projects in to Boardmaker Online.
  3. Participants will be able to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using the program as a stand-alone and in conjunction with Boardmaker Online.

 

 

Instructor Bio:

Enid Hurtado received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and her teaching credential in Special Education: Moderate to Severe from San Diego State University.  She worked as a Special Education Teacher for 6 years in California and Colorado with children of varying disabilities, Pre-12. After leaving the public school system, she worked as a behavior specialist for an Early Intervention Program. She currently educates and trains parents and professionals on the use of Boardmaker products for instruction.
