Getting to Know Boardmaker Online

Strategies for finding, creating, and implementing symbol-based materials to support speech, language, participation, and positive behavior in all settings were presented using Boardmaker Online software. Activities to address specific objectives were created and shared with participants.  Personalization and differentiation of instructional materials were discussed and demonstrated.

       Upon completion of this session, participants were able to:

  • Describe options for sharing materials among professionals on the Boardmaker Online Community.
  • List 2 Templates for each area of implementation: Speech, language, behavior, academics
  • Discuss how progress toward IEP goals is monitored with performance tracking assignments.
  • List 4 resources for professionals using Boardmaker Online

Sandy Klindworth is a speech language pathologist with over 30 years of experience working with individuals with complex communication needs.  Prior to coming to DynaVox Mayer-Johnson in 2007, she had a long career as a school based SLP and then worked in her own, AAC-focused private practice. She has been a member of the Boardmaker Implementation Team at Tobii Dynavox for 2 years.
