Geoffrey C. Gurtner, MD , is Professor of Surgery and Materials Science Engineering at Stanford University. He is the author of over 140 peer-reviewed publications in both the scientific and surgical literature. Dr. Gurtner runs a National Institute of Health and Department of Defense funded laboratory that seeks to understand the importance of physical stimuli (mechanical and chemical) in the human response to injury. In this webcast, Dr. Gurtner will detail new information from the recent scientific publication, “Biological properties of dehydrated human amnion/chorion composite graft: implications for chronic wound healing.”

Charles Zelen, DPM , is the Medical Director of the Department of Clinical Research, Professional Education and Research Institute, Inc., in Roanoke, VA. He is the Podiatry Vice-Section Chief, Department of Surgery at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and the Podiatry Section Chief, Department of Orthopedics at HCA Lewis Gale Hospital. In this program, he will detail dehydrated human amnion/ chorion membrane allografts, the results of recently published randomized, controlled trials on diabetic foot ulcers and plantar fasciitis, a crossover study, and recurrent data on the treatment of DFUs.
