 Tue, Jul 23, 2013 8:02 PM EDT

In light of the recent reports of inspections of General Aviation pilots and aircraft by Federal Government agencies (not the FAA), we will review the legal authority of the Federal and local government to ask for information from a pilot and to search any baggage and aircraft. We will discuss what we know about the boundaries of that authority and provide tips about how to respond to a government official's request to inspect a pilot's documents, belongings, and aircraft.
